A collection of stories

Welcome, Reader

Please, step inside. There’s a seat open at the table. Or, if you prefer, the bench there in the bay window and the sofa over by the bookshelves are also lovely spots to do some reading. Make yourself comfortable – you’re welcome to stay as long as you like.

You’ll find here a collection of my literary diversions: short stories and novellas mostly – though I’ve had my eye on some longer projects for some time as well, so we’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds. I write primarily in the Fantasy genre, but I’ve been known to dip my toes into the realms of Steampunk and Science Fiction as well. I find it’s best to follow the spark of inspiration wherever it may lead me.

Of course, the firewood in the hearth and the food and drink on the table don’t pay for themselves, so I’ve got to do what I can to earn some custom at my work to keep this cozy little library open for business. Here’s how it works:

Short stories are free to read here, or wherever else they may be posted (Reddit, Patreon, etc.). If you prefer the convenience of e-book format, I will occasionally compile collections to publish and sell for a small sum. One possible exception to this will be if the story in question has been accepted for publication elsewhere with an exclusive-rights agreement, in which case I will happily provide a link to the publication.

For novellas, or full novel-length works – loosely around 10-15k words and up – I will be serving ‘tasters’ here of roughly half of the story (give or take), along with links to various merchants from whom you can purchase the full tale. Depending on the length of the story, these tasters might be served all at once, or in a serialized format. The way I see it, if you’ve already read half of a story, and you don’t feel it’s worth the cost of a black coffee to finish it… well, it clearly wasn’t your cup of tea, and I don’t want you wasting your money on it to begin with. I’ll find something better suited to your palate the next time you come around.

If by chance you’re just having a wonderful time here and are feeling generous, you’re welcome to visit me over at Patreon – but no pressure. Tipping is a sign of simple appreciation here; not something to feel guilt or obligation over.

Well that’s about it for now – welcome once again to the library, and make yourself at home. There’s only one last question I have for you:

What would you like to read today?
